Dress under a $1000

I'M SUPER EXCITED! I found this dress that is under $600 and it looks EXACTLY like a very popular Melissa Sweet gown that would cost you $3800!!!!!

The dress is by Moonlight and it features a sweetheart neckline and a mermaid cut.

This is the Melissa Sweet gown that looks exactly like the dress above but way more expensive. The differences in the two dresses are so small that you really wouldn't tell unless you're a bridal expert.

Pre-Owned Wedding Dress of the Day

This Judd Waddell dress goes for about $3900, but the bride is asking only $1500. Pretty awesome - because it is an awesome dress!

Swoon-Worthy Dress of the Day

Sorry it has been a few days, this past weekend I went to Disney and then the next month I have to prepare for law school finals, so I might not be as on top of my game as usual. But I promise I wont slack too too much.

Heres the dream dress for the day. It is a Ramona Keveza, style number E832. I'm not sure of the exact price, but I know for sure it is over $5K, so lets just say it is fun dreaming :)

The dress comes in a pale green (for Earth lovers I guess?) and the classic white, so I'm posting both.

New Section: Dresses under a $1000

After discussing this with one of my friends, I feel it is really important to overcome a common misconception about dresses. The common assumption with many girls when they are first buying a wedding dress is that they wont be able to get anything absolutely spectacular for less than a $1000. This is not true at all. There are so many dresses that go for as low as $400 that look VERY similar to dresses that run 15 times that.

So to begin the new section: Dresses under a $1000, I picked out two very beautiful dresses that are both under $600.

The first one is a dropped waist gown by Eden Bridals. The A-line to the dress would flatter all figures and the scooped neckline adds the perfect allusion of cleavage for flat chests, or minimizes yet at the same time perfectly accentuates a bigger bust.

The next dress could easily be by Alvina Valenta or Paloma Blanca but alas it is a Maggie Sottero dress that is modern yet classicly beautiful. I love the bubble hem on this dress and the asymmetric waist. To show that I'm not lying, I found these two dresses that both range from $3000-5000. Look how similar they are to the Maggie Sottero. I'm telling ya....its quite unbelievable what you can get when you just do a little bit of research, you could end up saving thousands and put that towards a coveted band or those beautiful peony centerpieces! :)

Pre-Owned Dress of the Day

I wish this dress would show up bigger but it is being sold for $3500 (down from $7500). It is a sparkling masterpiece by Anne Barge. Check out more pictures of it: http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dresses/5197/Anne-Barge-432-Size-8.html

My Bridesmaid's Dress

This is going to be my bridesmaid's dresses. It will be in this canary yellow color. I tried it on myself and LOVED it, I'm almost sad that I'm not getting one too. It really is a beautiful dress and it looks good on girls in all sizes!

My Wedding Dress

I can't post about all these dresses without showing you guys the one that I picked to be my own, so here it is!

Its a Paloma Blanca Dress, style #3808. Paloma Blanca was my favorite designer when I was flipping through magazines and looking at all the ads. They are classic beautiful dresses and I love every single one of them.

To see all of Paloma's dresses:

I also love style 3901 and one of my runner up's during my dress shopping was #3861.

To get a Paloma Blanca dress in Florida: I definitely recommend The Collection in Winter Park - the place is the picture perfect, magical place to buy your dress in Florida. Ask for Diane :)

This absolutely gorgeous dress is by Carolina Herrera and probably more than some people's houses.

Create your "Inner Bride"

Awhile ago, I found this http://weddings.theknot.com/myinnerbride/Default.aspx on The Knot and it lets you create your inner bride. Yes, VERY addicting. I dont recommend you do this during law school, but you could spend a good 45 minutes creating all sorts of ones and let the time fly by.

Anyway, enjoy creating one for you, and if you want, send me what you make and I'll post it on here!

(To save, you must already have an account on The Knot. Once you save, then click on your picture and it should let you save to your computer)

Inspiration for my wedding....

For those of you who dont know, my wedding (June 6, 2009) will be a nautical themed wedding so here are some of the pictures that I am using for inspiration...

Pre-Owned Wedding Dress of the Day

I found this website, http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ , where you can buy some AMAZING dresses that women are selling. I know for me the thought of buying a $6000 dress was quite terrifying and so I avoided trying on a dress that price completely (although I did touch some and I swear they felt like butter). So for the girls that DO try one on, fall in love and then can't afford it, then you can stalk this site and hopefully someone will put it up for sale in your size or a size bigger.
One tip of advice for this site: Make sure you look at the street size AND not the dress size because wedding dresses usually run VERY small. Myself and most women have to go up 2 sizes (dont worry and freak out when you try a dress on, its just the way they're made). Also if you're between two sizes -definitely go to the size bigger. Its easier for them to take in a dress and make it smaller then try to add fabric and make it bigger.

Anyway, here is where you can get this amazing dress that is for sale (and p.s. it is ONLY $750!!!!!):

My first post!

So when I'm bored during law school, I endlessly scan wedding sites and find pictures of weddings that I'm obsessed with. I wanted to put all my favorite pictures on one site so that I will forever have them and all my friends can see them too when they plan their weddings.

As of right now, there will be no order to this. Hopefully the more I get going, we'll establish some sort or "favorite dresses on sale" section and other sections.

Ok, lets begin!
